Mentoring

Peter is the Artistic Director of the Belfast School Of Performing Arts (BSPA). With 8 schools in Northern Ireland the school has over 600 students.

Deeply involved at every level, Peter highlights the importance of visiting schools to ensure connections with students and teachers, putting him at the heart of the training process. Teaching workshops throughout the year and directing multiple BSPA shows and events ensure Peter’s professional experience and expertise gets passed on to the next generation of young performers.

BSPA offer their student’s speciality training in the performing arts in age-appropriate groups. This includes an exciting mix of singing, dance and drama through professional specialised tuition. Students learn to develop specific skill-sets whilst increasing confidence and enhancing social interaction. Depending on their interests, BSPA students can take part in competitions, away trips, extra-curricular training and also perform at various events throughout the year.

BSPA pupils receive many varied performance opportunities and as a result pupils have performed at The Friendship Four hockey tournaments at the SSE Arena (Belfast) , as a part of Brendan Cole’s (Strictly Come Dancing) last tour, They performed at Disneyland Paris , at BBC Children In Need and also most recently, at The Responsible Business Awards alongside Peter Corry Productions.

The BSPA Voices are a newly formed vocal group under the baton of Ashley Fulton, who will also be performing at ‘Christmas At The Cathedral’ alongside Peter in his new Christmas show at St Anne’s Cathedral.

The Performance Studio NI

The Performance Studio launched in January 2018 in order to provide more curated training for those aged 16-24 years. It was a 10 week Sunday course focusing on singing, acting and dancing concluding with a showcase performance at the Baby Grand (The Grand Opera House, Belfast) entitled “This Is Me!”.

The course was taken by the team behind Perform Boot Camp. The Music Box, Cats at the SSE and The Red Velvet Cabaret – Fleur Mellor, Ashley Fulton and Peter Corry.
The focus was on self-development and as it was attended by many strong actors and singers with less dance training, there was a dedicated focus on learning and strengthening of basic dance techniques, movements and language with an emphasis on safe working practice and confidence building.

“Fleur is fantastic! Faced with 30 11-year olds, 3 different songs, a fussy class teacher with a specific brief and only 2 days, Fleur managed to choreograph, teach and rehearse 3 amazing dance routines.”

“Fleur involved the children at all stages, she was patient and very engaging – the children were always active, on task and utterly loved every minute. I’d ask Fleur to work with our school again in an instant.”

Josh Franks

Yerbury Primary School, London

“I have been using Fleur as a freelance teacher for years to teach dance workshops in many different styles of dance in schools across the UK.”

“I always receive great feedback from the teachers and children about her enthusiasm for dance, her great choreography and the way she relates to children of all ages and abilities. I am always confident that Fleur will deliver a great dance workshop.”

Olivia Heiser

Director of Zest Dance Workshops

“A huge thank you to everyone from Lauren for the wonderful experience she had over the last few months at The Performance Studio. The show last night was a great testament to all the hard work, direction and inspiration the group received from Peter, Fleur and Ashley.”
