Peter Corry

Originally from Belfast, Peter has performed throughout the World over the last 20 years with his unique voice and with his passionate and personal style always to the fore.

It is a career which includes not only singing but also acting, presenting, producing and directing.

Performing regularly throughout Europe, over the last few years he has also appeared in the USA, China, Russia, Latvia, Bermuda, Denmark, Cyprus, Sweden and Mozambique.

Peter spent three years in the formidable role of Inspector Javert both in the West End and UK tour of “Les Miserables”. Other musical theatre roles have included, Sweeney in “Sweeney Todd”, Fagin in “Oliver”, Jamie in “The Last 5 Years” and most recently Ignati in the Opera “The Crocodile”.

Peter received huge public acclaim both in Ireland and Internationally when he sang at the funeral of the footballer George Best.

He also starred in the premiere of “On Eagles Wing”, recorded for American PBS television and has featured in Washington at the St Patrick’s Day Celebrations. Peter has performed at The MGM Grand Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas and in the unique setting of The Vanderbilt Hall Grand Central Station, New York.

His hosting credits include “The Peter Corry Show” with BBC 1 Northern Ireland and presenting several radio series for BBC Radio Ulster entitled “Show Tunes”.

As an accomplished director, credits include: “On Eagles Wing” (European tour), “Celtic Nights” (US tour), “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!” “Spectacular, Spectacular!” (inspired by the Music from the film Moulin Rouge), “Annie Get Your Gun” and two concept shows he has devised“The Red Velvet Cabaret” and “The Music Box” which ran for ten years as a festive Christmas Spectacular.

Passionate about encouraging young people to perform, he has hosted several theatre “Bootcamps” as well as youth productions of “Oklahoma!”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Les Miserables”, the NI premiere production of “The Producers”, “Into the Woods” and “Oliver!” at the Edinburgh Play House and “Cats” at the SSE Arena Belfast.

He is the Artistic Director of Northern Ireland’s leading theatre school for young people The Belfast School of Performing Arts (BSPA).

Throughout 2019 Peter is appearing in the title role of the theatrical spectacular “The Showman is Coming”. In November he will be on tour in the Netherlands with “The Rocky Road to Dublin” and in December, starring alongside Barbara Dickson and Patrick Smyth in “Christmas at the Cathedral”.

To date, Peter has recorded 12 albums.
